Move over Gaga, I met ROBYN

One of my favorite singers of all time is Robyn. She is sassy, does what she wants - including breaking away from her mainstream label so she could make music the way she wanted to - and I love it. She's great at capturing emotion while simultaneously making it impossible to sit still during her songs (evidenced by my recent drives to work - people must think I'm crazy...) I can't help but get nostalgic for Copenhagen when I listen to her songs - it brings back memories of fun all-night dance parties and the time I saw her at Roskilde (hands down the best music festival - ever...)

Two months ago, I saw that Robyn was coming to little ol' Boston and I JUMPED on the opportunity to go. This past Tuesday night was the night and I was so ready to dance. The concert was amazing - Kelis co-headlined and she mixed "Milkshake" (talk about throwback) with Madonna's "Holiday" - which was glorious.

The main event was undoubtedly Robyn and I was not disappointed - my expectations were exceeded. She kept the energy level high by dancing the entire time...only taking a quick break to eat a banana. I'm not even kidding - a sold out venue watching the performer eat a banana. Only Robyn...Anyways I had a blast dancing for an hour plus but the excitement had just begun.

It turned out that if you bought Robyn or Kelis' album for $10, you could get it signed after the show. Um done. I'm not sure the last time I bought a CD and I can't remember seeing a CD for sale for $10 past 1998 - $10 for awesome music and you get to meet Robyn? Sold!

We waited in line for a bit and then got our CDs signed - I told her I had seen her at Roskilde, which she confirmed was one of her favorite places to perform and got a snazzy silver autograph from Kelis.

I've listened to the CD non-stop for 2 days now and I can't wait for Pt. 2 to come out in September so my awkward car dancing can continue to evolve.

If you ever have the chance, go see her perform - I promise you'll have fun. Live life beyond the f it, I promise you won't be disappointed.

With that - I leave you with Robyn's collaboration with Röyksopp "None of Dem"
